Whipped Coffee At Home: No Machine Needed

Although the craze has somewhat died down, people continue to swear by whipped coffee, and for good reason. Not only is it easy to make, its rich flavor mixed with its velvety texture and extra kick of caffeine (instant coffee is used in this recipe) makes for the perfect creamy coffee drink.
The Story Behind Our Instant Coffee
Did you know that on June 28, 2018, Death Wish Coffee was sent into space to fuel the astronauts on the International Space Station? Yup, that means we can legally say that our coffee is out of this world (JK I am not a lawyer please don’t sue us).
In partnership with NASA Food Labs, we developed an instant freeze-dried blend designed to fuel astronauts aboard the International Space Station. Packed in the Dragon capsule, along with other supplies and science experiments, our coffee made its journey to the ISS on the SpaceX Falcon 9 rocket on June 29 from Cape Canaveral, Florida, to fuel NASA astronauts. One thing led to the next, and now Death Wish Coffee is a staple on NASA's food menu (a big thanks to Nicole Stott and the wonderful people at NASA Food Labs). Our instant was crafted to caffeinate the crew aboard the International Space Station, without sacrificing the coffee’s texture, flavor, and strength.
The Origins of Whipped Coffee
Whipped coffee, also known as Dalgona coffee, originated in South Korea in the 1960s. The drink became widely popular during 2020 as people sought creative ways to enjoy their coffee at home. Inspired by a Korean candy called "dalgona," this whipped treat combines instant coffee, sugar, and water to create a fluffy coffee foam that's spooned over milk for a deliciously layered drink.
Whipped Iced Coffee Recipe

Ingredients:

2 tbsp Death Wish Instant Coffee

2 tbsp sugar (or your preferred sweetener)

2 tbsp hot water

1 cup milk (dairy or non-dairy)

Chocolate shavings
Instructions:

Whip it up: In a bowl, combine Death Wish Instant Coffee, sugar, and hot water. Using a hand mixer or whisk, whip the mixture until it becomes thick, creamy, and light brown in color (about 3-5 minutes).
