Looking back at all the mugs we've created with Dropkick Murphys
To say we're excited to partner with Dropkick Murphys again is an understatement — a weekend of Celtic punk rock in Boston?! We'll bring the coffee.Â
Not only are we huge fans and supporters of the band, but we're supporters of what they believe in, too. In 2009Â band frontman Ken Casey started The Claddagh Fund, a charity that focuses on children's and veterans' organizations, as well as drug and alcohol recovery efforts.Â
To help raise money for The Claddagh Fund over the years, we've released a series of charitable mugs. Since partnering and releasing these mugs, YOU — our caffeinated, mug-collecting community — have raised more than $100,000 for The Claddagh Fund.Â
So while we wait for the next mug (hint hint), let's take a trip down memory lane, shall we?
2018: The first Claddagh Fund MugÂ
This mug style was from the Deneen Pottery vault — the first full 20-ounce beast to be produced in over a decade at the time. Deneen refers to it as the Nokomis tankard, derived from Indigenous Peoples history in Minnesota. When we released this, $10 from each mug was donated to The Claddagh Fund.Â
2020: A Rose Tattoo inspired MugÂ
This collectible Dropkick Murphys mug featured the logo from the band's hit song "Rose Tattoo." The song memorializes Ken Casey's grandfather, and is inspired by his own rose tattoo — the reason? To tell the stories of what he's been through and what others have been through, too. When we released this, $10 from each mug was donated to The Claddagh Fund.Â
2021: Snake + Skull Medallion MugÂ
A special St. Paddy’s design we created in collaboration with Dropkick Murphys. We made this green Snake + Skull Tankard mug extra roomy—because size matters when you’re drinking Death Wish Coffee. When we released this, $10 from each mug was donated to The Claddagh Fund.Â
